Serving at Mosaic
We have lots of ways to serve and use your gifts. Because the body of Christ has different members and gifts, we want to help you identify your God-given gifts, and empower you to serve out of those gifts. When each part of the body is working properly, it makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love (Eph. 4:16, 1 Cor. 11:12-26). If you'd like more information about any of these opportunities, please fill out our Serve at Mosaic form.
The following are some of the ministry teams and outreach opportunities we have to love and serve:
Audio/Visual Team - Not many behind the scenes jobs are as important as the A/V team. This team provides us with quality sound, visual aids, and offering our worship services online to folks that can’t join in person. This ministry requires no previous experience to serve.
Hospitality - If you're a people person or just love to serve others, this is the team for you. Hospitality volunteers help with everything from greeting folks as they arrive, communion preparation, event planning/set-up, and meal scheduling. This is a great way to get involved.
Mosaic Kids - The church isn’t supposed to be like a family, but is supposed to be a real family. As such, we want all our people to have a sense of ownership and connection to our youngest church members. We believe that children of believing parents are not the church of tomorrow, but already part of the church of today. We are called to raise them up in the faith, and this is a great joy. This ministry has opportunities with different ages to offer nurture, play, crafts, and biblical teaching.
Set Up Crew - This team is an essential component of our weekly gatherings as they set up chairs, tables, sound equipment as well as putting it all away again. As a church plant that doesn’t yet have a permanent location, this team is indispensable. This team seems to have a lot of fun as they do it too!
Worship Team - If God has gifted you with vocal or musical gifts, we invite you to participate in our worship team. This is an incredible opportunity to serve the body through the use of your gifts.
ESL - We are pleased to partner with the International Literacy Center to help love and serve our neighbors who want to learn english as a second language. For more information about serving with our ESL partner, email email@example.com
Mercy Team - As with all things at Mosaic, mercy isn’t an event, but a lifestyle. That being said, we do offer a few opportunities to love and serve our neighbors.
- Mobile Pantry - Mosaic Fellowship is pleased to help with the Mobile Pantry offered by Orchard Knob Middle School on the 2nd Thursday of each month. This is a monthly service opportunity to provide food assistance to any neighbors who are in need. This event happens at Orchard Knob Middle School (500 N. Highland Park Ave) from 1-3pm.
- Widows Harvest - Each month we have opportunities to serve widows in our neighborhood through the encouragement of friendship, prayer, food assistance, and more.
- Poverty Alleviation Team - We believe that we are all in various states of poverty as we experience broken relationships with God, our selves, other people, and all of creation. As such, all of us need healing in all these areas to experience a life of faith and flourishing. We believe that engaging with the materially poor requires far more than distributing goods and assets. While we do believe assistance has its place, we seek to offer a more holistic approach to offering help than merely distribution. We have a team engaged in innovatively creating a ministry that uniquely engages with those in our immediate neighborhood.
